Tartelette in Bloom & Tarteist Lip Paints || Swatches & Thoughts

Row 1

Charmer (off white), Jetsetter (warm taupe), Rocker (shimmering taupe), Smokeshow (black brown)

Row 2

Flower Child (peachy nude), Smarty pants(tan), Firecracker (bronze copper), Activist (dark brown)

Row 3

Funny girl (champagne), Sweetheart(peach), Rebel(chestnut brown), Leader (aubergine)

This palette is $45 for 12 colors (0.053 oz. each), it includes 9 mattes and 3 shimmers. All of them are really easy to apply and blend, they have a velvety smooth texture much better texture than the original Tartelette palette. Like the original Tarlette, I love this palette as well! Wearable, everyday looks with a kick of shimmer that's perfect for any special occasion or daily life. Finally a palette that contains really dark browns! It's really rare for me to find a really dark color that is an alternative to black in a lot of well known palettes, which was a big deal for me! No complaints really but Funny Girl you just have to build up a little bit and you're fine. Love this palette and this makes a perfect gift for the holidays, and compact for travel with a big mirror.

Tarteist Lip Paints

tbt (mauve)

fomo (mauve) exclusive for VIB Rouge only!

twerk (fuschia)

 lovespell (pink)

 hangry (berry)

 manbun (dark berry)

 frenemy (burgundy)

These are $20 each for 0.20 oz. each, there are 14 colors and one color is exclusive for Sephora VIB Rouge members (fomo). I love these they are not drying on my lips at all. They have a mousse texture similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams but they don't dry your lips like the NYX ones. They are really comfortable to wear when it dries, it's similar to the Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme or NYX Liquid Suede which I both love! It feels really light weight, it stays on for a long time, stains your lips, and like I said it doesn't over dry your lips. Always apply a lip balm and don't apply these if your lips are really chapped because they accentuate your chapped lips, if that's the case exfoliate! It fades a little when you eat but it will still look wearable after, you might have to reapply if you ate some oily/greasy food. I really have no complaints about this product other than the color range as you can see, some colors are very similar that you can barely tell the difference, I was also hoping for that purple/pink color but it's ok because I have a lot of lipsticks that color anyway, but it's just something that I always look for other than any mauve and vampy red colors. These are now available on Sephora.com or call any Sephora stores near you!

Beauty Favorites 2015

I know I'm so late, I'm sorry I was busy studying so I guess better late than never.
Some categories might have more than one item in it because I couldn't pick just one and I did use them a lot the past year and genuinely been loving and enjoying them. I like switching my foundation, mascara, and lipsticks but definitely been going back to certain brands and shades.

*Just for reference I have combination oily skin and I do have pretty oily lids.

FACE

Hourglass Mineral Veil
Hands down the primer that I used for most of the year. I love it because it doesn't clog my pores, it feels lightweight and it really does prime, if you have redness this product also combats that.

Tarte BB Primer in Medium
I love this product because when I don't feel like wearing anything heavy or full coverage or if I'm going nowhere special this is what I use. I have combo skin so this helps keep the oil at bay. I still set with a translucent powder. I've used this for work and also for the gym and it's one of my go to when I can't decide what foundation to wear.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #6
This is the most amazing foundation that I have ever owned. I am so in love with this and a lot of people always ask me what foundation I'm wearing. It has a satin/matte finish which is perfect for me. Even though it is pretty expensive I still think it's so worth it. I love it so much but at the same time I don't use this for everyday use for obvious reasons that I don't want to waste it or run out any sooner.

`
YSL Touché Eclat Foundation in B50 Spf 22
I have discovered and loved Nars Sheer Glow in 2014. The YSL Touché Eclat is my 2015 discovery for dewy foundation. It doesn't feel cakey and it gives me the right coverage, it's also buildable. I love wearing dewy foundations around fall/winter months because my skin gets dry, I don't get too oily on my t-zone comparing to summer. This foundation has been reformulated so if you go to Sephora most likely it's the new formulation. YSL is going to get rid of their Fusion Ink  Foundation, not quite sure if they'r replacing it with a new matte/satin foundation.
YSL Color Guide:
B-Neutral
BD-Golden Undertone
BR-Red Undertone

Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation in #36 Beige Golden
I love this foundation as well it only takes a few swipes on the face and it is dewy and it looks natural and feels light weight. This foundation is really pigmented, has a unique applicator but I directly apply onto the face. I would say this foundation is medium to full coverage it is definitely build-able. Remember it's always better to add some more because it's easier that putting too much on and try to take some off. I do not recommend dewy foundations for really oily skin.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Warm Beige
My third dewy foundation that I enjoyed in 2015. I wore this foundation for a straight month. It is medium build-able coverage. It looks very skin like and left my face healthy looking and radiant.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation/Stick in 128 (Y415 Almond) and 177 (Y505 Cognac)
I loved the old formulation better because it was better for my skin type nevertheless, I still love the new dewy formula. I literally just need a pump for my whole face and set with a powder. I also enjoyed the stick form when I'm on the go, it doesn't feel thick or dry, easy to blend. The shade 177 I use to cream contour, doesn't look muddy or gray on my face even if it has a warm undertone. After I set my face with powder I do go over my contour with the Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque
The first under eye color corrector I've ever used and I'm impressed. Even though it is a little bit thicker because it's a cream formulation it is easy to blend, doesn't feel drying, and it gets rid of my dark circles even without the concealer. I still conceal to highlight and brighten my under eye area. I always set with a powder because it would crease if you don't. For Bobbi Brown the rep. told me that the Bisque shades would work for most, go for Peach shades if you feel like it Bisque didn't really work out. Try them out and see the amazing result you'll get, you can also put this at any dark spots before applying foundation.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20
I regret buying the NW 30 because the MAC artist told me that I need to get the one with a cooler undertone to brighten up the under eye area. I haven't use the NW30 after I bought the NC20 because it's so brightening and I was blown away. I just always have a hard time with the pump because I don't even pump a whole pump, because it will be too much. I pump it about midway and get a little bit, it is so pigmented and it goes a long way and this is a holy grail product for me and it's a top concealer on my list.

Urban Decay Naked Weightless Skin Concealer in Med-Light Neutral
Ever since I discovered this I stopped using my MAC Pro Long wear Concealer. It was a better consistency because it was lighter and it had the same coverage as the MAC Pro Long Wear. Still to this day, I have not touched my Mac Pro Longwear. I'm not on my second tube of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. If I had to choose my holy grail concealer and I could only pick one this product would be it and this would be the only thing I will ever need for a vacation. I love the flexible doe foot application which makes it easier to apply concealer.Obviously 1st on my top concealers and a holy grail. I cannot wait to buy the peach or the pink corrector that's coming out the the next few weeks.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
I'm currently on my second tub of this powder. A tub lasts for about a year. I am in love with this powder it keeps my foundation in tact throughout the day. I also use this to bake my under eye area and it does brighten and make a difference. This powder doesn't have a tint and it will blend with any skin tone. If you are dry but your under eye creases I wold just apply it on those spots and leave the rest of the face powder-free, if you do your skin might look flaky and look even more dry.

Tarte Blush in Exposed
This blush has been an eye opener for me. I didn't gravitate towards muted color blushes, and after I've tried this I could't stop wearing it. It looks natural and not too much but it still gave color, most of the time I don't need to contour because I feel like this blush just create a shadow near my contour areas. Great for everyday for any event.

MUG Romance & Infatuation Blush
I love wearing them separately but they look as great together. It is comparable to Nars Orgasm or The Balm Hot Momma. I love these two shades because they just look glowy and my skin looks healthy. These two colors have a coral tone but they are not overwhelming to wear for everyday at all. I would give this a try because it's so worth it and it's very affordable.
MAC Blush in Peaches and Melba
I love these two colors as well. Peaches is a little bit brighter than Melba but both are very wearable. I still wear these two colors often. These were my first MAC blushes, since I really enjoyed these I got carried away and bought more and found more favorites.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette
I love this contour/highlight palette. I mainly use Sombre and Shadowplay (2 lighter contour colors) to contour on a daily basis, but it I want a more dramatic look I just apply some of Subconscious and blend it out with the other two colors. The only highlight color that I use is Lyric and I use it to set my under eye area, it has a yellow tone to it so it's my banana brightening powder. It blends easily, it's finely milled, and it's pigmented, and user friendly.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
Love that this bronzer smells like chocolate. This bronzer is made of real cocoa and cocoa smells good and is also an antioxidant. I used to contour with this before my Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette, it didn't look muddy. It's matte and has a warm tone. Recently I have just been using this as a bronzer and it's great.

Hourglass Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light (darker shade of the two shades)
I love this bronzer just as much as their ambient light powders. It has the same blowy effect but really does bronze and warms up the face without adding a lot of product. It looks like a natural tan, even though it has a little bit of shimmer it's not noticeable on the face.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop
I have been using this highlighter since the day that I got it. I haven't used my Mary Loumanizer from The Balm ever since this came out. I already got a backup after a month of getting it because it used to be just a limited edition product. Champagne Pop has a golden tone and it complements my skin tone. It is always sold out and everybody raves and loves it that Becca decided to keep it in their permanent line. All Becca's powder highlighters and blushes are very creamy and pigmented so it is worth the money and the rave that it gets, it will last you at least a year. I still haven't hit pan on mine and I've been using it since it came out.

Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck
I fell in love when I swatched it in store and saw that it was a white creamy eyeshadow that has peachy reflects and I knew then that I had to have it. I used it on its own but I love layering this with Becca's Champagne Pop Highlighter and it takes it up on a whole new level with a more intense glow that's really flattering.

MAC Fix Plus in Coconut & Yuzu
I have used Urban Decay's De Slick and All Nighter Spray for years and I still got pretty oil in my t-zone and my makeup didn't last that long. I have finished 2-3 Fix Plus already. I used this everyday after I'm done with everything. My makeup looks amazing throughout the day and it brings back the dewyness of the foundation after setting it with powder. You could also use this as a face mist when your face feels dry or when you just want to refresh the face.

BROWS

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Chocolate
The dip brow pomade is what I use every single day and this is my second pot. I love this product because it lasts me for more than a year. It does get dry after a few months but I just add a drop of Josie Maran Argan Oil, mix it and it's good to go.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

I have been using this for two years and this is the best eyebrow setter ever! My eyebrows stay on the whole day even when I take a nap or go to the gym. This is awesome and is my holy grail product.

EYES

MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Since the day that I bough this eye primer I never went a day without using them because they are that good! This primes my eyes and also evens out my eyelids and hides all the veins. I love that it doesn't dry as quickly when I apply it. I still use this paint pot as we speak and I haven't hit the half-way point yet and it's still the same texture from the day that I bought it, love that it didn't dry out at all just make sure you secure it tightly.

Tartlette
I love this all matte palette because it's so simple to take anywhere and it's a look that you could do for everyday or going out. I love this as much as my Lorac Pro and I think I like this a little bit more.

Tartelette in Bloom
When I heard that there was another Tartelette Palette I couldn't wait to pick it up and I already knew that I was going to love it. I love it because it has wearable colors like the first one but this also has shimmer colors that I could pop on the lids, also easy to take anywhere and wear everyday or a night out. I love warm toned eyeshadows and these Tartelette Palettes are pigmented and high quality.

Too Faced Bon Bons Palette
I bought this palette in December. I told myself that I was not going to buy this because it looked too cute and it look like it's a little kids palette. I was wrong but thankfully I am. If it wasn't for the people that were talking so much about it and if it wasn't for me giving it a second chance and swatting it, I would probably be missing out. I don't own any of the Chocolate Bar Palettes from Too Faced but I don have the Natural Eyes Palette. I love my Bon Bons more because it's bigger and it has more color selection, it has neutral colors and fun colors that are wearable for everyday. They are really pigmented and they smell like chocolates! I have swatched the other two Chocolate Bar Palettes but this one is my favorite for color selection.

Anastasia Self-Made Palette
This palette can be wearable but you have fun colors to play with and you also get mattes, shimmers, and glitters. I love that this palette includes a black eyeshadow. This palette can be wearable for everyday but definitely more for events, parties, or nights out. Anastasia eyeshadows are very creamy, pigmented, high-quality, and easy to blend and I love them so much! Anastasia is now available at Sephora and if you buy four eyeshadows it's $40 with an empty palette and make them a quad, if these eyeshadows were bought separately it's $12 each. I think for me the palettes are a better deal because you really get to play with more colors and you find out what you use more often, which is perfect because then I feel okay buying the full size.

MUG Shimma Shimma, Chickadee, Creme Brûlée, Peach Smoothie, Rapunzel, Cocoa Bear,

Kat Von D Trooper Eyeliner
I have ignored this product for the longest time until I got a second one for gratis. I finally decided to give it a shot. I was always so intimidated by felt liners. I had some experience in the past that made me not like felt liners, they dried too fast, tugged on my eyes and my eyeliner just ended having jagged lines or the eyeliner wasn't black or pigmented enough. I have to say this eyeliner changed my life. My winged eyeliner that I do every single day for the past 10-12 years has changed. This eyeliner made it easier for me. I don't know how but it does. Every time I extend the line on both sides and bring the line back to make a triangle it always looked even and smooth. I am still so blown away by this product. I would give it a shot. If you are intimidated by this or not used to it. I would advice you to ask someone and teach you or watch a Youtube video. This is a very common difficult makeup technique, and with some practice it will be a piece of cake.

NYC Black Liquid Eyeliner
I have been using this for the past 3-4 years now. Before those years I was just trying out every single  drugstore eyeliners that I could find and I have to say this makes it to my holy grail eyeliner with the Kat Von D.

NARS Audacious Mascara
I love this mascara, even though it doesn't claim to be waterproof it doesn't smudge on me and I have worn it to the gym. I love it because it separates my lashes and gives it a bit of volume and length.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
I have gone through a lot of these. I love the formula and even if this is not the waterproof one it doesn't smudge. It gives a lot of volume and some length, it's very black.

Dior It Lash Mascara
I love this mascara because it lengthens and separates my lashes, it doesn't budge either.

Sephora Collection Quill Eyelashes
These look natural and it looks like you have really long natural lashes or you got some lash extensions from a salon. It is very soft and easy to apply. I trimmed my on the sides to fit my eyes better. Even though I don't apply fake lashes everyday this would be my everyday fake lashes because you can pull it off, I'm just too lazy to do it everyday.

House of Lashes Feline
These lashes look more natural than most of House of Lashes mascara because it's mimics my natural lashes but obviously more exaggerated. I love that these were easy to trim and they don't irritate my eyes.

Duo Glue (green)
I love this lash glue than the other Duo lash glue because of the applicator. I though since it was a thin brush that it wouldn't apply my lashes well. I was wrong, it only applied how much you need and I don't get it on the lashes and make it look ugly and stick to each other. It dries pretty quick and it's invisible, doesn't dry white.

LIPS

NYX Liquid Suede Lipsticks in Soft Spoken, Vintage, and Cherry Skies
I have finally found affordable lip stains and these are my number one from the drugstore. These are very comfortable to wear, my lips don't crack when I move them around. They are not over drying, you can still feel some moisture, they are pretty pigmented.

Sephora Collection Cream Lipstain in Marvelous Mauve #13
The past year, I have been into mauve/dusty pinks. Basically any muted pink with some brown under tone. I own a lot of the cream lip stain from Sephora Collection but this color is definitely my favorite. It is not drying as most lip stains out there and this is my go to everyday lip, especially if I am too indecisive, I just throw it in my purse and go.

Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in TBT and Fomo (exclusive to VIB Rouge only)
As I already mentioned I love this kind of color on me especially for everyday. The Tarteist Lip Paints have a mousse texture they are thicker than most liquid lipsticks but they give a full pigment of color. The texture reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I am not too crazy about the formulation because for liquid lipsticks I do prefer a more liquid texture because it's just easier to outline the lips and fill, it gives the lips a fuller and sharp look.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in Patina & Aria
One of my most favorite formulation for liquid lipsticks it smells good, doesn't over dry my lips and it stays all day. Patina is an everyday color and could be worn for any event. Aria is a going out/event/work color for me. Even though it doesn't over dry the lips I still put a lip balm on and make sure I don't have chapped lips.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Lolita, Lolita II
Everybody loves Lolita from Kat Von D. These liquid lipsticks are sold out all the time for a reason. They are so pigmented. Kat Von D was the first brand that started the trend on dusty mauve lips. Lolita I is one of my favorite shades. I love it for everyday, it's perfect for any outfit, occasion, and time of day. I wear this when I have dramatic eyes or when I feel edgy but don't really want to wear crazy bold colors, or just for everyday.  Lolita II came out in 2015, Lolita II is more on the peachy side. It's still wearable for everyday, it doesn't look pale on me. I still love it for an alternative for a wearable lip. I always recommend exfoliating the lips and applying a lip balm on before any liquid lip stains.

Buxom Lip in Dolly
I am not a big lip gloss fan because I hate the sticky feeling. The reason why I fell in love with this is because it looks so natural on and it gives me a natural pretty tint. It smells like mint, it doesn't stick together when I pucker up my lips. Sometimes I like to throw this on top of a matte lipstick or lip stain to give it some hydration or if I was just not feeling the matte look.

Urban Decay Revolution Lip Gloss in Liar
Love this color, this lipgloss doesn't feel sticky, very pigmented for a lipgloss. My everyday go to when I don't feel like wearing lipsticks. Not really great for layering because this is very pigmented and it would just wash off anything that you apply before this.

Marc Jacobs Lip Lock
If you are not new to this blog then you know I am crazy about this stuff! I have gone though about 3 of these already and I just love it so much. It is very moisturizing and it stays moisturized for hours, unless I eat. I love this best especially before I put any kind of matte lipsticks or matte liquid lipsticks. It does make a difference and my lips don't chap as early as other lip balms would.

Vaseline Lip
One of the cheapest lip products that actually works. Always great for dry, chapped lips, and liquid lipsticks. Vaseline is also comparable to the Farmacy Lip Bloom that I also love.

FRAGRANCE

Flower by Kenzo
I am in love with this powdery floral scent. It's not strong it just smells light and fresh. I'm bad at describing scents but I really love this one.

Juicy Couture La Fleur
This fragrance is the eau de toilette version of the Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy. This is my everyday scent because it's light and it smells just like my Viva la Juicy.

Daisy Eau so Fresh by Marc Jacobs
I have been wearing this for at least 3 years now, this perfume from Marc Jacobs is my favorite from his collection. I didn't wear this as much as I did but I still love it nonetheless. I rotate all of the perfumes that I mentioned, just depending on the day and what I feel like wearing. I appreciate good smelling perfumes but I have really sensitive nose and I get a headache really quickly. I do prefer lighter floral and fresh scents.
