Closet Organization & Tips

These first two pictures are before my closet update. I just wanted to show my curtains that I just bought online at Target before I organized my closet. I believe they were $19.99-24.99 each, but Target always has discounts on home/furniture for 20-30% if you spend over $50, no minimum purchase, etc. I did take out the sliding doors off my closet for a bigger/open space.

Tips:

1. Donate Clothes/Try On most of it! If you have not worn it in while, rethink about it!

 2. Hang Clothes that you do not want to forget about.

 3.  Plan out the layout of your closet and what to place in it.

 4. Sort/ Order of the Clothes; summer clothes, winter clothes, colors, material, formal, casual, thin,
thick, etc. or you could also color coordinate.
5. Roll basic tops/bottoms to conserve space

6. Try and make it clutter free so it looks cleaner.

7. Put scented dryer sheets in between your folded clothes so they always smell nice.

8. Roll your pair of socks together.

9.For Fall, put summer clothes in big clear bins and place in in your garage or  wherever you have extra space, do vice versa for winter clothes. If you're lucky enough to have enough space for all of your clothes then good for you :)

10. Do a Spring Cleaning and Fall Cleaning to allow more space for more new clothes :)

They do not come installed, you have to pick the width of your drawers and the height of the sides (frames), and the drawers vary on how many would fit depending on the height of the sides (frames) and the width that you choose. These are so easy to install, these took me less that 30 minutes to put together, and I didn't encounter any problem other than using the hammer.

I recommend getting the mallet because I tried using a hammer but the hammer made dents on the frames, hammers are really heavy, whereas, the mallet is lighter and it didn't damage any items that I got, and it only needed a bit of pressure to put in place. I'm so glad that I was able to fix that problem right away, and it only made dents on one side of one frame, but the rest were dent-free.

I have two drawer sets in my closet. I wanted all three of them in there and they all fit but when I tried to open the last one at the end it was stuck inside the frame of my closet and I couldn't open it all the way. I ended up placing the third drawer set outside my room and ended up buying a white melamine top that is 22" wide to fit the top. The other two drawer sets inside my closet didn't need a top because they're inside my closet anyways and I didn't feel necessary to get them. On the bright side, I was able to fit a clear plastic container on where I was originally going to put the third drawer in my closet to fit random things in my room and made my room look cleaner and clutter free.

Everyone at The Container Store were all very nice and helpful. They answered all my questions, helped me with measurements and decision making. If you are hesitant or if you are planning to get these try and play around with the different measurements and styles online.

This is the 2-runner drawer

The last two pictures are the 3-runner drawer

Side of my closet

This is the side next to my closet. I have a 3-drawer chest from Target Shabby Chic Collection.
The 3-tiers of round containers are from TjMaxx/Homegoods. The fake flowers are from Michael's, the Owl Oil Burner and candles are from Bath and Body Works. Curtains for my windows are from TjMaxx/Homegoods. I have cotton shorts/bra accessories, bralettes in the smallest round container, in the medium one I have underwear's, in the biggest container I have bras.

I do apologize for all the mess and horrible folding. I admit I have to refold everything and make time to make everything nice and neat again =\

Casual tops/Basic tops,Graphic Tops

Closet

Gym tops and socks :)

Gym tops/leggings/yoga pants :)

Thick sweaters, hoodies, and sport bras :)

Skirts and shorts (casual and dressy), bell bottoms, harem pants :)

Thin longsleeves, extra bras that don't fit in the round container on top of my 3-drawer chest  :(

Jeans and Jeggings :)

**Left side of closet more casual
**Right side dressy

All of my summer dresses, going out dresses are altogether on the left side. The middle of my closet has casual clothes starting with long sleeves, short sleeves, and sleeveless tops. The right side of my closet has formal/dressy long sleeves, button-ups, then short sleeves, and sleeveless. I put one or two jackets on the right, and also my Sephora costume.

The different colored baskets are from Tj Maxx/Homegoods. I wish I got all the same colors but unfortunately they didn't have every size in one color. I also wish I had one color and style for the hangers, because it will make it even more cleaner and more organized, but that's not really a big issue right now, so I'll leave it be.

The 3rd drawer outside my room with my Target Rack. I usually put fall/winter clothing items on my rack.

The only drawer with a white melamine top.
In all of the drawers I have fuzzy sweaters, thick long sleeves, jackets, parkas, long sweaters, etc.
**Hats from Forever 21

I only included this because of the cami tops and legging, and since I was already labeling them might as well label all the other cubbies :)

Sigma Brushes Review/Haul

F80 Brush $24, synthetic brush, flat and dense, length: 6 1/4 in. (15.8 cm)
I love using the F80 brush to apply my primer and especially my foundation because it's the softest brush I've ever used! It buffs the product really well and it blends seamlessly, doesn't leave any brush streaks! I definitely get why this is highly raved and praised. I have been using all of them for a month now and I can say that this is a holy grail brush for me!

F25 Brush $33, synthetic brush, tapered and precise, length: 7 7/8 in. (20.1 cm)
I got this brush because Jaclyn Hill loves this brush and I wanted to give it a try for myself. I love using this brush for highlighters and to "bake" (basically means to let the powder set and brush off any excess after a few minutes) after I apply a concealer underneath the eyes. I love this brush because it contours to the hard-to-reach areas the only thing that bothers me is the size, it's a little bit big for my face especially if I only use it underneath my eyes, bridge of the nose, and on my cheekbones. It's really soft and I really enjoy this brush.

F82 Brush $24, synthetic brush, dense and domed, length: 6 3/16 in. (15.7 cm)
I love this brush for cream contouring! I have been looking for the perfect brush that will make cream contouring a piece of cake, and I think I found the one. I have tried this with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Palette and also the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation, which I've been using lately. This brush makes it so much easier to blend and it does the job well because I can contour in a breeze! Definitely a holy grail.

F40 Brush $22, synthetic brush, angled and fluffy
This brush is similar to the Angled Crown Brush that I was using previously, but the Sigma one is softer! I love using this to apply my blush. Doesn't pick up too much product and it's really easy to blend. You can also try using this to apply bronzer.

E40 Brush $16, synthetic brush, fluffy and round, length: 7 7/8 in. (20.1 cm)
I use this brush for one reason and that is to blend my eyeshadows. I love this brush because it's soft, it doesn't poke my eye, and it's easy to blend. A holy grail for me because I tried cheaper brushes and a few bucks more made the difference.

E25 Brush $14, synthetic brush, flat and wide, length: 6 1/2 in. (16.51 cm)
This brush is really similar to my MAC 217 brush, MAC 217 is slightly bigger. There's literally no difference other than the price. They are both soft and it doesn't poke my eye. I couldn't tell a difference on how well they both perform. I use this brush to apply lid colors and to blend them out as well. I would say a holy grail but I can't because I have 2 brushes that are basically the same.

E54 Brush $14, synthetic brush, flat and dense. length: 6 13/18 in. (17.07 cm)
If I want a more precise lid application I use this brush because it's more dense and is easier to pack on the color. I love this brush even more because it's perfect to apply pigments with MAC Fix Plus, my Makeupgeek Foiled Eyeshadows, and also tried this with my Urban Decay Duo chrome Eyeshadow in Tonic. I also want to try applying concealer with this brush. A definite holy grail because it's so versatile and it doesn't absorb the moisture of cream products.

I got the Mini E25 as a gift because I spent over $50, and if you spend over $50 you also get free shipping for U.S orders, for international it's free if you spend over $150. I got individual brushes instead of a set because I don't need/want some brushes in most of their sets, it is more pricey this way but cheaper than buying individual MAC brushes, and I got my brushes 20% off from the Labor Day Weekend. Shipping took about a week to a week and a half.

I love Sigma for the quality and for the price, it's actually what I recommend for everyone even if you're a beginner. I wish I didn't waste so much money as a teen on cheep makeup brushes, which I kept buying and buying because it wasn't that great for me and I was always looking for the perfect brushes.

I am definitely going to buy more individual brushes from Sigma. I just bought the ones that are really essential for now. I have been wanting Sigma for so many years and never pulled the trigger til now. I know every holiday they always have a deal wether it's free shipping or percent off your purchase, so definitely keep a lookout for that!

I was originally going to post a blog about my closet organization but I'll do that tomorrow because today I didn't have time to take good pictures with good lighting. I just wanted to post something that was still helpful and informative and at the same time doesn't take too long to edit. So I hope you enjoy :)
