So as some of you might know, I went to Bangkok early March and I was there for 5 days.
It is easy to go around town if you ask the right people, if you did some research, and because transportation is really cheap. Food is really affordable as well. I went to Bangkok mainly to go shopping and to look at beautiful temples. I was with my mom, my aunts, and my uncle we stayed at a pretty decent hotel that was affordable, and having someone to share it with makes it cheaper :)
The weather in the early morning is around 75 C but around 11 am-4 pm it can get to 95 C.
I will be breaking down my blogs into 5 Bangkok segments so it's not too boring to read.
Silq Hotel- Asok Station
Our hotel of choice is Silq Hotel it's about 3 minutes walk from Terminal 21 Shopping Mall and also the train station. My aunt booked it from the actual website but here are the pictures. http://www.expedia.com/Bangkok-Hotels-SilQ-Bangkok-Hotel.h2810283.Hotel-Information?chkin=04%2F01%2F2014&chkout=04%2F05%2F2014&rm1=a3&hwrqCacheKey=99053b4b-bf5f-4f76-a3c6-dc6678f44736HWRQ1395562949690&c=695c5b10-3df8-4ff1-ac8d-f5433752b450&
We actually had two rooms one standard room for my aunt and my uncle, it was around 2,000 baht a day which is $62 USD. I stayed in the deluxe room with my mom and my other aunt, the deluxe room was around 3,200 baht a day which is around $100 USD a day/3 persons so of course we paid for our own it was $33 USD each person a day in our deluxe room, which is awesome for the quality and the service of the hotel. There is free Wi-Fi if you are checked in the hotel. Did I mention we all ate delicious breakfast, it was really tasty it wasn't food that would just fill you up and not satisfy you, trust me because I am a picky eater. They have a menu for your order and also a little buffet bar with fruits, desserts, soup, bread, cereal, coffee, etc. It was held near the lobby it's indoors so you don't have to worry about the weather or flies.

Whenever we would want to be "safe" we would ask one of the staff to get a cab for us and tell the cab driver where we want to go that way we don't have to worry about any misunderstanding because of the language barrier, less chance that we get scammed, and don't get overcharged for being a tourist.
It's 1, 300 baht ($40 usd) extra for the service. The service picked us up from the airport it was really easy and convenient.
Notice the driver side? It's on the right side, which means the roads here are opposite as well! Just like in Europe!
**My airfare was $200 from the Philippines to Bangkok- Cebu Pacific Airlines. It was a 2-hr flight. Bangkok time is an hour behind Philippine time.
Day 1
Terminal 21 Shopping Mall- ASOK STATION
This mall is themed after an airport, each floor is themed by different cities around the world, the bathrooms each floor are also themed differently. This mall is also a bit "pricier" than other malls, but some of the items are still cheaper compared to the U.S. It has 9 floors!
Caribbean- Lower Ground, Rome- Ground, Paris-Main, Tokyo-1st, London-2nd, Istanbul-3rd, San Francisco-4th &5th, Hollywood-6th.
Food is mainly 4th and 5th floor, some in the lower ground. I recommend eating at 4th and 5th floor because most of the eateries are upstairs!
There is also a Money Changer Booth in the Main Floor, Money Changer in Bangkok is everywhere so don't stress about not having enough money to shop!
Lower ground
This was amazing this is a Matcha Milk tea with pearl (green tea)- in the LG level, they also have one outside Platinum Mall, but I'm sure they have more locations.
5th floor- Mostly Pier 21- which is basically fast food but you have to convert your money in a card to pay in front of the line. If you didn't use up all the money in your card just go back to the booth and they will return your money back. Really cheap food and good quality food, delicious as well!
This is mango with sticky rice btw! At first I didn't want to try it because I was never a fan of fruit and rice together but thankfully I didn't miss out! It was around 75 baht ($2 usd). **The sticky rice is sweet, and it actually has coconut milk drizzled on top of it.
Bathrooms-I actually didn't get to see every bathroom but here are some
I got to look around for just a little bit because we had to look for a tour for the temples etc. so we asked around and they said there might be one across the street in Time Square- shopping mall. On the 4th floor we found Satguru Travel and Tours. We actually just took the Ayutthaya Tour it was 1,480 baht ($~46 usd) each adult/child. It was a 6- hr tour (Bangkok Day 3). We also took the Grand Pearl Cruise with dinner, it was 1,500 baht ($46 usd) per adult/child it was about an hour cruise (Bangkok Day 2). We saw Wat Arun Temple from the cruise and also some of the Grand Palace. I didn't really like the food on the tour but I enjoyed the scenery and the entertainment. I will be talking more about the tours etc. in the coming Bangkok segments.
Platinum Mall- Siam Station (then we walked for 15-20 min more)
We also went to Platinum Mall but we only got to finish the first building- Zone 1. It opened at 10 am and closed at 7 pm because of the night market outside. It has 6 -7 floors each zone/building. This is when I went crazy on shopping! Almost everything was around 100 baht-600 baht ($3-$18 usd), you can definitely bargain, but you get a better discount if you buy it on a wholesale price, which means you have to buy a certain amount of item from the same booth. When you go around you will see a lot of the items are similar, but I recommend buying it when you see it, because it will be a hassle to go back because it's crowded and I learned to remember the name of the booth. But some of the booths like Frazier has a booth on different levels and in Zone 2.
The clothes are good quality but make sure you check if it doesn't have a rip or dirt or anything that might refrain you from buying. The only thing that suck is that you can't try on the merchandise and you just kinda have to see if it's going to fit. **If you are tall like me and if your jean size is around 27 and up I would suggest to get a bigger size for bottoms because for the shorts and the bottoms that I got I was a size L or XL when I'm around 27-28 in jean size but they also sell harem loose pants most likely you won't have a problem with that because it's loose fitting and you can adjust it on the waist line. Most of the clothes here are meant for tiny, skinny, petite girls so just keep that in mind. For tops it's the same I was a medium or a large depending on the style. If it was tight i was mostly likely a large. There were times when I bought a top and it didn't fit me when I tried it on after, I just got lucky I got to exchange it, and they don't do refunds at all! Not even an exchange! I just came back the next day and I told the person that I just bought it earlier in the morning, and they didn't remember my face because it is really crowded and busy and they probably won't remember you. So i got it exchanged but I was more cautious of buying tight fitting tops. I would only buy it unless I am really sure.
