2-3 Days after the cut & color/first wash
Products /Treatments/Mini Review
I would say that the color is slightly different before I washed it but I love it!
It's a little bit more toned down. I basically wash my hair every 2-3 days. I am currently trying out Deva Curl No Poo Cleansing Conditioner (shampoo that has no lathering effect, looks like a conditioner but cleanses your hair and softens it) and the Conditioner from Deva Curl. So far so good! I am actually planning to buy the biggest size for both, because I think I found my holy grail shampoo and conditioner! I was trying out the Wen Sweet Mint Almond Cleansing Conditioner and didn't like it. My hair felt oily and greasy and after finding out it has sulfate in the ingredients.
I also use the Macadamia Deep Mask Conditioner when I'm not using the conditioner from Deva Curl. I use the Agave Hair Oil on the daily before I brush and style my hair. I also spray some It's a 10 with keratin, and I'm out the door. I don't really use hot tools on my hair, only when I'm going somewhere special. I just let it air dry, the Agave hair oil helps with frizziness.
If you read my blog post from my Best of Beauty 2014 Skincare & Haircare I explained why I loved the products I used, some are mentioned here. The only thing I changed up was for the most part the shampoo because I ran out of Organix Shampoo that I've been using all year last year, I just change up the scents from time to time. Organix is still pretty good but it's not as good for the type of hair I have and for color treating my hair. I am going to use up all the conditioner I have left from that Organix and be done with it.
3 oz $9
12 oz $20
32 oz $40 (comes with a pump)
**The Deva Curl No Poo and Low Poo are slightly different. They are both a cleansing conditioner but if you have thick hair you want lots of movement use the Low Poo, if not use No Poo, but it really depends on your preference. (This info is provided by the Deva Curl Representative that educated me)
I have thick hair but I love the minty smell of the No Poo, so I chose the No Poo.

I didn't know anything about Deva Curl and haven't really heard much from people using it, which is why people stray away from products because they don't know anyone that has experience with it and people that actually tried and loved it. I am guilty for being one of them, but thankfully I found this brand and I love to share my thoughts on any product that I love. Everything that I say about products I use are my own thoughts and opinions and my own experiences. I am not sponsored with the brand. I just got a free small packets of the Deva Curl Cleansing Conditioner, One Condition conditioner, and their Ultra Defining Gel which I haven't tried yet. I am currently trying the Deva Curl Styling Cream which has a leave-in conditioner texture and helps with managing my hair, it's awesome because it works well and it smells like Skittles! If you are still hesitant to buy full size items from any brand always get a sample of anything you want at Sephora anytime you stop by, it's free!
I didn't apply any conditioner or any hair mask or hair oils because I was
trying out the Wen Sweet Mint Almond Cleansing Conditioner.
Process
I found out about Salon Elegance from a friend at work and she said that they are awesome and she goes to Rhonda for her cut and color. I've been wanting to go here since last year but I went to the Philippines and I ended up getting my haircut and color there (which was more expensive). My long hair was damaged at the ends, lots of split ends and dead frizzy ends, and it gets tangled a lot even after conditioning and hair oil, so I decided to cut it.
All of the hair stylists are independent workers, I wanted to go to Rhonda but she was pregnant, and she recommended me to her friend that works there, so I went to Sonya. Sonya was really friendly and nice, and I love the cut that she gave me! She made it thinner in the bottom because I have thick hair and she said it's better because it will have more movement. I had some pictures that I showed her and I asked for her opinion which one would suit me best. So she basically followed the cut and the color from the picture I gave her. If you're wondering I got hair inspirations from Negin Mirsalehi, a fashion blogger, Kaushal Beauty, a Youtuber, and That'sHeart, also a Youtuber. I choose to get Heart's hair, with Sonya's input on it. My hair took 4 hours to cut and color, she bleached my hair first and put them in foils (which took forever to do), and I went under the steam for about 15 minutes. She then removed the foils, and washed my hair, then she applied the toner to make it look more brown, let it sit for a 20 minutes or so then washed it. She blow dried my hair, straightened it and styled it. The cut and color was $125, her estimate was around $115-$125 depending on how much product she had to used. It was $125 because my hair strands are thick, and I have a lot of hair, so she had to use more product and everything was $155 after tip.
It has been five years since I cut my hair this short, so it is something that I have to get used to, but so far so good! It's a good change. I loved my long hair but I don't regret chopping it off. My hair is not as high maintenance as when I had longer hair, it's easier to dry, easier to style, and it doesn't get a lot of tangles. Not to mention I save more hair products because of the short length. My head doesn't feel heavy, it feels free and airy, and I don't get a lot of bad hair days.
